Welcome to this guide page for creating a great listing on KotMatch.com. Reading this page before you start will give you clear insight into our verification process and help you set up a high-quality listing to find the perfect student for your room while you are away.

Guide for Listing a Room

Click "List your room" in the main menu of the Kotmatch website to get started.

  • Account Creation

 

-  Clicking the button automatically creates your personal account.

-  This allows you to manage and edit your listing at any time under ‘My Listing’

-  You will be asked to fill in your personal information and contact details.

-  You must provide a bank account number to securely receive rent payments.

-  You will also need to enter your landlord's contact details.

 

  • Creating Your Listing

 

-  Next, you can start building the perfect post for your student room.

-  Your post will not go live immediately, giving you plenty of time to review it.

-  Edit your text and upload photos in any order you like.  

-  You can save your progress and update your draft as many times as needed.

 

  • Contract Verification

 

-  Uploading your original rental contract with your landlord is mandatory.

-  Kotmatch will carefully verify your listing details against this rental contract.

-  This background check ensures the security and validity of your sublease.

-  Once the verification is successful, Kotmatch will approve and publish your listing.

 

    •  Your listing is now live !   Happy KotMatching!    🎉

Good Tips for a Great Listing 💡

  • For the description 

 

-  Mention the size of the building, how many students live there. 

-  Clearly state which spaces are shared with how many. (e.g., kitchen, bathroom). 

-  Add local highlights: are there supermarkets, laundromats, or bus stops nearby? 

-  Don't forget to mention the distance to the university campus.

 

  • For the photos 

 

-  Provide clear pictures of the student room.

-  We recommend taking one picture from each corner of the room to give a perfect sense of the space. 

-  Don't forget to include photos of the bathroom (toilet and shower), the kitchen, and the bicycle storage.

-  The first photo in your gallery will serve as the main cover photo for your listing. 

-  Drag your best picture to the first slot to set it as your cover photo !
